A Broader Perspective

Listen along as I talk to my father, Jim Lang, who describes his experience of moving between army bases throughout childhood. Jim's father was in the Air Force, so his family frequently moved between bases. He walks us through the reality of constantly packing up and moving from one place to another. Moving so often gave Jim a broader perspective on the world, something he realized when he started school at Humber College. He learned to respect people for who they are instead of their ethnicity or religious beliefs. In this audio portrait, Jim describes how he gained a richer experience of cultural diversity through all the places he moved while growing up.
